چکیده
Beam Commissioning for the damping ring of the KEK accelerator test facility (ATF) has been started since January 1997. Control system of the ATF accelerator i s based on the CAMAC-enhanced byte-serial highways handled by the Open-VMS Cluster system. Control software is integrated by using a commercial database application for process control. In this paper we present the status of the ATF control system developed during the commissioning phase.

The Japan Hadron Facility of KEK and the Neutron Science Project of JAERI have been merged to one project; the KEK/JAERI Joint Project for high-intensity proton accelerator facility. The purpose of the Joint Project is to pursue frontier science and nuclear technology. The accelerator for the Joint Project comprises a normaland super-conducting linac, a 3-GeV rapid cycling synchrotron and a 50-...

The Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) at KEK offers a very low emittance micrometre sized beam of 1.28 GeV electrons close from the conditions expected at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The ATF should soon be able to provide a bunch spacing similar to that of the ILC. This accelerator being a test facility it is possible to have dedicated machine time with custom beam optics for our tes...

In the control system of the JAERI-KEK joint project (High Intensity Proton Accelerator Facility), it is planned to employ network-based controllers such as PLC’s and measurement stations instead of using other field control networks, since the network hardware and software can be standardized and they have been successfully utilized in other accelerator control systems in KEK. EPICS software s...

The high-intensity proton accelerator facility in Japan comprising a 600-MeV linac, a 3-GeV rapid-cycling synchrotron, and a 50-GeV synchrotron, has been officially approved for the construction of its Phase I. The Phase I includes the 1-MW pulsed spallation neutron source, but the 50-GeV ring can be operated up to only 30 GeV. The linac energy is limited to 400 MeV, which is not high enough fo...
متن کاملBeam Based Alignment at the Kek Accelerator Test Facility
The KEK Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) damping ring is a prototype low emittance source for the NLC/JLC linear collider. To achieve the goal normalized vertical emittance γεy = 20 nm-rad, magnet placement accuracy better than 30 μm must be achieved. Accurate beam-based alignment (BBA) is required. The ATF arc optics uses a FOBO cell with two horizontally focusing quadrupoles, two sextupoles an...
